Okay, I am now officially pissed off at LJ. First a bunch of my icons disappear and now I'm not getting any LJ notifications or comments. Can't LJ just stop fucking around and leave things alone when they were working fine. LJ, I do hate you sometimes *shakes fist at the LJ PTB*. If I didn't have so many friends here on LJ, I'd be very tempted to leave and go hang out over at Dreamwidth.

So if you happen to comment on my journal and I don't answer you, it's not 'cuz I'm ignoring you, put the blame on LJ. GRRRRR!!!!

It's not totally their fault this time; they got hit by hackers yesterday, big time and there's still some fallout like missing icons.

Annoying though, for sure :-(

lol! Well they just announced in LJ News they've successfully restored user pics and if you are still having problems, refresh your page and it should reset it. It's all still based on the Ddos attacks since the 25th.

Don't go to Dream Width! It's full of whiners just like IJ was before DW. LJ is worth it IMO. I wouldn't want to leave my friends. Just take a breath, its not worth the energy of getting mad for attacks that aren't LJ's fault. Blame the stupid ass hackers.

Okay, I hadn't realized they'd been hacked. Don't people have better things to do with their time? Apparently not *sighs*

My userpics seem to be back again. This is like the third time this has happened in past two days that they've disappeared, then come back, only to disappear again.

I'm not going anywhere. I love my friends here too much to up and leave. I do have a DW account, but I never use it. I much perfer LJ.

LOL! Yeah, I was gearing up for the 'angry' rant *g*. My icons seem to be back again \o/ But that happened yesterday, too. They were all there, then a bunch disappeared, then came back, then they disappeared again today and now they're back again. It's enough to give a person whiplash!

I'm not going anywhere! I really do like LJ, except when it's acting up, but I wouldn't want to move to a different journal provider.

I just wish that LJ would leave things alone when things are running smoothly. Kip is an IT Tech/Manager and even he said that when updates are done or things are changed, it's always 100% sure that it will cause other problems. Sometimes it's just minor fixes but other times it causes major problems. I'm all for the old adage... if it ain't broke, don't fix it! *g*

I had the same problem for a few weeks. You can go to "settings" and let all your messages be sent to your in-box, so you'll be able to keep track. Worked just fine for me for the time it was fucked up.

I couldn't even get LJ to load on Wednesday night, at the height of the denial-of-service attacks. There are still a couple of lj sites I can't get into, but all should be fixed over the next few days.

I have a DW account also, but my friends all live on LJ so my mail presence is here. I hope you'll stay! Your icons should all be restored soon, they're working on the remaining bugs in the system. And - they've announced that the attacks led to them upgrading their servers, so the site should run faster from now on.

Everything seems to be working at the moment. My icons have returned home and I seem to be getting all my notifications/comments. Hopefully it'll stay that way *crosses fingers*
